Stand in the village square and look up. At the gables of the venerable villas. At the church tower that seems far away. To the vineyards that stretch out on the hillside. This is Tramin. This is your holiday destination.
The village square - a clearing. Surrounded by houses that bear witness to their history. Lined with vineyards, carefully laid out: sometimes square, sometimes trapezoidal. Sometimes clinging to the steep slopes, sometimes nestling quietly in the valley. Wine is the protagonist of the small, spicy wine village of Tramin.
A kingdom of facets
Here, in the central square of the village, all the facets of South Tyrol come together. The smell of coffee wafts from the bars. The village fountain, which provides the not always voluntary wet and cold refreshment during the Egetmann parade, splashes monotonously, refreshing exhausted hikers and cyclists. The war memorial stands in the shade of a large chestnut tree. Some of the more than 3300 inhabitants meet for an aperitif around midday. Then comes the grand entrance: that of the Gewürztraminer. Character amongst the wines. Wine among the inhabitants. And the glasses clink. The waitress joins the guest, the holidaymakers drink to the benefit of the locals and vice versa. Everyone gets to know their neighbours a little better.
(Not only) a wine village
But that's not all there is to Tramin. It's also history and culture that you can see in every corner. It's nature. Vineyards, paths, forests. Dotted and embraced by rich shades of green.
Tramin is also a summer resort. The outdoor swimming pool is lined with pools. The sunbathing lawns are lush green, the perfect place to relax after a wild splash around in the water. And Tramin is something else: it's pleasure. From eating to drinking, from active experiences to doing nothing. All this awaits you at the gates of the Gartenheim & Überbacherhof. All this is Tramin - a village with character.
